Bio Ethanol Burners

From a long fire line to cozy bio-ethanol fireplaces in wood stoves, designed especially for you

Your very individual bio fireplace!

With a bio-ethanol burner you can quickly and easily create your own bio-fireplace. It doesn't matter whether you live in the countryside or in the city; Thanks to the soot- and smoke-free combustion of bio-ethanol, the burner can be used anywhere. Ethanol burners are often used to revive old, unusable fireplaces that no longer meet the guidelines.
On our site you will find many decorative items that will help you give your fireplace a new life or realize your own ideas. This way you can easily and uncomplicatedly create your own fireplace with high-quality bio-ethanol burners.

What exactly is a bioethanol burner?

This burner is actually, simply put, the inside or heart of every fireplace. Here the fuel, the bio-ethanol, is filled and the fire is lit. The great thing about an ethanol burner is that it is very versatile. For example, you can just leave it as it is or you can make it a DIY project and build something around the bio-burner.
Inside the burner, which is usually made of stainless steel or aluminum, there is a small tank. The ethanol is filled here. Depending on the size of the tank and the burner, a corresponding amount of fuel will of course fit in it. The inside is also filled with ceramic wool. The advantage of wool is that it absorbs the fuel immediately, making it easier to light. In addition, the ceramic sponge prevents the ethanol from leaking if the combustion chamber or fireplace were to fall over. Of course, the wool cannot hold the entire contents of the tank, but not as much will leak out as without wool.
Above a certain size, the bio burners also have a small stainless steel plate that slides over the opening. This is used both to extinguish the fireplace and to regulate the flame size. The stainless steel plate has two small hooks at the top into which the extinguishing tool, a longer stainless steel rod, can be clicked. Once the rod is clicked into place, the stainless steel plate can easily be slid over the opening of the ethanol stove.
If you want to extinguish the ethanol fireplace, simply push the stainless steel plate completely over the opening using the tool. In this way, the flame of the ethanol combustion chamber is extinguished and the flame goes out. If you want to reduce the flame just a little, you can slide the plate over the opening just a little. The oxygen supply to the flame is reduced and the flame becomes smaller. This extends the burning time of the fireplace because less ethanol is used.
Lighting the fireplace burner may only be done with a long match or a lighter. You can also try it with short matches or a normal lighter, but the danger of burns due to the rapid combustion of ethanol cannot be ruled out here. If you use matches to light the fireplaces, dispose of the matches properly. This means that matches should not be left near the fireplace. Leaving used matches in the fireplace will dirty it and shorten its lifespan.

Bio burner – manual

As mentioned at the beginning, ethanol burners are often divided into two categories. So also on our homepage. Here we have the bio fireplaces manually. We explain here exactly what this means and what the advantages and disadvantages are of the respective ethanol burners.

Manual bioburners

Manual fireplaces are fireplaces or ethanol burners where all maintenance, including lighting and extinguishing, must be carried out manually. This means that the fireplace itself must be lit and also filled with bio-ethanol. To extinguish the fire, you must also extinguish the fire yourself. Extinguish the fireplace with the appropriate extinguishing tools. The big advantage of this burner variant is the price. In the webshop the prices of the manually operated ethanol burners are between € 300.00 and € 5000.00. We will clarify later how much an automatic ethanol combustion chamber costs.

The ethanol burner is the perfect DIY project

As already mentioned, the decorative burners can be used for a great DIY project in your home. The great thing is that you can give free rein to your creativity here, so only your imagination determines the limits of what is possible. Ethanol burners are very neutral in design and offer a high degree of safety, allowing you to focus on the essential when planning: the appearance. In this little section we'll show you some of the great projects our customers have built with our ethanol fireplaces.
A great project and affordable for most people is to build an ethanol fireplace into an existing wall or ledge. All that is required is to measure the dimensions of the decorative stove and make a suitable recess. Also take into account some safety distances from other objects and materials. You will find this in the installation or assembly manual of the relevant fireplace. This is one of our favorite decorative versions of our ethanol fireplaces, it really looks great! It is perfectly integrated into the living situation and adapts perfectly to any environment.
The next option for a noble design is to raise or build a new wall. Here you can design and determine everything yourself. From the color of the wall to the material used. The only thing that is important is that the wall into which the decorative fireplace is to be integrated is fireproof. Not because the fire from ethanol fireplaces can somehow spread, but because the safety regulations of most bio-ethanol burners require this.
The great thing about these ethanol burners instead of a gas fireplace or an electric fireplace is that they only require the fuel or perhaps electricity if they are operated automatically. The gas fireplaces require ventilation and must be installed by an authorized person. If you need more information on how to DIY a fireplace in your home, just get in touch – we'll be happy to help.

Turning old into new!

Our absolute favorite DIY project is installing a decorative ethanol stove in an old wood fireplace. The prerequisite for such a project is of course that you have an old wood-burning fireplace that you now want to convert. Before the project can start, you need to know the dimensions of the old fireplace and accordingly purchase a bio-fireplace that will fit into the old recess.
It may be necessary to remove the old wood fireplace if this has not already been done. Some people also build their bio fireplace products directly into the old wood fireplace. Both are a super fun idea as we think, leaving plenty of room and scope for fun and creativity. Depending on the size of the existing recess, this may also be the size of the fireplace. There are certainly customers who have built a large Premium XXL mantelpiece from your old mantelpiece or mantelpiece. As with most DIY projects, it is only the imagination that determines the limits of the possible.
Perhaps you have a project that you would like to put into practice or you are missing some useful ideas, we are here for you and will help you as best we can. Our experienced team is often aware of the possibilities and can therefore, in most cases, advise you well when it comes to carrying out and planning a fireplace project.

Also the perfect fireplace outside

A combustion chamber for bio-ethanol is very robust and resistant. This is not least due to the high-quality materials used in the construction of the products. Most combustion chambers are made of stainless steel or aluminum. These are very suitable for outdoor use, as they are resistant to wind and weather. Some fireplaces also have glass decorations or fronts, which gives the fireplace an extra premium look.
You can place the ethanol burner directly, as it is, or you can build a beautiful ornament or base for it. Another option is to also build a raised plinth, for example under a covered terrace. Here the stainless steel bio combustion chamber quickly becomes a wall-mounted fireplace that does not even have to be hung.
If you place the stainless steel ethanol burner like this, it fits almost anywhere, is flexible and portable. So it can be placed on the terrace during lunch and creates a great atmosphere. In the evening, the ethanol chamber can simply be taken into the garden, where it can extend the mild summer evening for a few more hours. If the ethanol chamber is used and installed as is, it is important that it is disassembled correctly. To do this, you can either wrap it dry after each use, for example under a covered patio or indoors, or you can purchase a tarpaulin to cover the bio chamber. If you choose the latter option, it is important that the tarpaulin is wind and waterproof. Usually you can find great and cheap offers for such tarpaulins on the Internet.
As with indoor use, the ethanol burner can also be used outdoors for a DIY project. So you can also raise a wall outside or cast a pedestal that fits perfectly with the purchased burner insert. This is how you build your own ethanol fireplace, where you determine the dimensions and appearance yourself. The great thing is that you can decorate the ethanol burner very easily. This is not possible with an ethanol burner, which is as it is, usually not installed, because the surface is not sufficient and the burner insert is moved frequently because it is often transported.
There are many bio fireplace decorations that can easily be used for a built-in fireplace or DIY project. This makes it easy to place LED lights or ceramic stones. Some customers have also reported installing a tabletop fire/table fire (gel fire) on a homemade mantel. This way you have twice as much fun with accessories.
You can also find many of our DIY project ideas on our Facebook page. We often have competitions or great offers here. So it's worth taking a look here!

General advantages of a bioburner

Some customers are afraid because they think that an ethanol burner is not a real ethanol fireplace. But is it so? Does a bioburner offer fewer advantages compared to a conventional biofireplace? We will get to the bottom of this question for you.
Many of our customers live in places where there is no chimney. The perfect solution is often obvious here: an ethanol fireplace! But which bio fireplace should it be? This is often a difficult decision, often requiring a lot of information to be gathered before making a purchase. However, many people often ignore all-stainless steel fireplace inserts when making this decision, thinking they require special installation or other details.
For a bio ethanol fireplace insert and for a combustion chamber you only need fuel. The great thing is that the bioburner, like all other ethanol fireplaces, uses ethanol as fuel and therefore there is no real difference from its big brother. So you don't have to worry about a chimney or extra fuel. The only thing you need to worry about is that there is enough fresh air, i.e. oxygen, in the room air. You can ensure this by always having a window open when the fireplace is on.
The window does not have to be completely open, just a small opening. Information on how exactly the size of the room and the size of the fireplace are related to oxygen consumption can be found on our website, in our instructions section. Here we have put together some more instructions for you, in which we also explain other things that are important when dealing with an ethanol fireplace.
A bio-ethanol burner also has all the other advantages of a normal bio-ethanol fireplace. Because a combustion chamber for an ethanol fireplace, just like a normal fireplace, uses only high-quality ethanol to generate the flame, it is also smoke and soot-free. So you don't have to worry about your combustion chamber releasing toxic or air-polluting particles or dirt. The only thing you need to worry about with an ethanol combustion chamber, but the same goes for all other fireplaces, is that it is safe and will not slip or tip over during use.
Because an ethanol combustion chamber, like most ethanol fireplaces, is also made of stainless steel or aluminum, you do not have to put much effort into cleaning it. Because no smoke or soot comes from the fireplace, dirt cannot settle on the combustion chamber. However, since a bioethanol combustion chamber can also collect dust, it should be wiped clean occasionally with a damp cloth or cloth. Once you have done this, you can wipe again with a dry cloth to remove any streaks or streaks. Afterwards, your bio fireplace will look like new again.
If you are using your bio fireplace or fireplace outdoors, you may need some mild soap or a light bristled hand brush as an additional step to the procedure just described. This easily removes coarse dirt from an ethanol fireplace that is often exposed to wind and weather.
These ethanol fireplace inserts are therefore much easier to install in your home than a gas fireplace. If you have any questions about bio-ethanol fireplaces or other products, or if you would like more detailed information about a specific product, we will be happy to help you. We hope you enjoy browsing and discovering our products.
